Florida Gulf Beaches Marathon Announcement... Boston Marathon Qualifier
If your interested in spending a few days along the Florida Gulf Beaches you might want to consider the Florida Gulf Beaches Marathon.
There's a Half Marathon on December 13th.
On January 23rd there will be a Marathon, Relay and 10K. I've competed in the Marathon Relay in the past and can attest to the scenic course... Regarding the relay I'd advise putting your best runner either on the first leg or the 6 mile leg. The other legs are all 5 miles. The first leg has 2 bridges within the first 2 miles of the 1st leg that will need to be crossed, the second of which is fairly tall.
The Marathon is also Boston Marathon Qualifier.

OC Marathon Gold Sponsor
It looks like New Balance has stepped up to the *plate* as a Gold Sponsor of the inaugural OC Marathon which is scheduled to take place on Dec 5, 2004.
Most race web sites that I've come across are fairly bland. But not the OC site. This is a cool site that has a neato logo too. Oh and get this... there are 11 bands signed up for entertainment. You can review the bands here.

The Vancouver Island Runners' Association just posted the Island Race Series Schedule. Nine races in all. You can get in on the fun for an economical $115 (all 9 races). If you register online then you have a chance at winning $1000 according to this.
