The Breast Cancer 3 Day Walk benefits the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund. The 3 Day Walk is a 60 mile walk which takes place over 3 days starting in the Summer 2005. New Balance is a sponsor of The Breast Cancer 3 Day Walks. Some New Balance stores will offer a 10% discount when you bring your donation card to their store. Participating stores are listed at www.3day.org ,when you click on the Outfitters link. Still Time to Race for The Cure

The 2005 Komen New York City Race for the Cure® will be held on September 25. There is still time to register.

In the city during the week of the NYC Race for the Cure many buildings show their support by illuminating themselves in pink lights. Show your support by wearing a pink bracelet or making a donation to a local affiliate.

I received an email today from the Team Captain for "The Legacy" Gerry's Colorado Charity Team. Kathy, let me know that the Denver Race for the Cure is actually scheduled to take place on 10/02/2005 and not in September as we previously posted on our Komen Race Calendar (which is now updated).

I received an email from Dave Phillips this afternoon. Dave is the IT chair for the Komen Charlotte affiliate and he informed me that they have a new web site address so we wanted to share that with everyone.

For some local news, the Komen Florida Suncoast Race for the Cure will be held tomorrow at Vinoy Park, St. Petersburg, FL. Don't forget to stop by our New Balance Tampa booth, say hi to Ken and receive a coupon towards your next in store purchase. See you there!

Next week starting October 7-9 is the 3-Day Walk for the Tampa Bay area. Walkers will begin in Clearwater, FL and walk 60 miles through the Tampa area ending at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, FL.

The 15th Annual South Florida Susan G. Komen Race For the Cure 5K Run/Walk will be held in downtown West Palm Beach, Florida on January 21, 2006 at 7:30 a.m. Events include a Women’s 5K, Men’s 5K, Co-ed 5K walk for individuals, Co-ed walk for teams, Kids for the Cure, Tots for the Cure and the Survivors Recognition and Awards Ceremony. Spectators welcome.

I must tell you that I have walked the Race for the Cure in Tampa and it is truly a life changing event. To be with these women who have suffered themselves or with their loved ones can be felt so deeply by the end of the event. The people that walk are sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, cousins and grandchildren. Entire families and groups who show their support and unity by wearing custom designed t-shirts with messages of support, pictures of lost loved ones. Race tags on the racers backs are labeled in support of or in memory of consisting of names and names of people that the racers love and lost or rally and support. Truly, truly I have never seen anything like it. It is a morning that will change your life

If you can’t make the South Florida Race for the Cure, find a race in your city.

Many sponsor booths will be at hand. A New Balance booth will be present. Five-time Olympian Francie Larrieu will sign autographs in the New Balance tent the morning of the race.
