Do the opposite of everyone else and succeed.... huh?

That's exactly what New Balance has done over the years. When did you make the switch from another brand to New Balance? I'll bet that unless you have a unique size requirement then you probably wore something trendy or hip early on in your running and didn't switch until your 30's.

So when did you switch to New Balance?

What happened to human against human, no machinery needed?

Alrighty... um who here is willing to shell out $250 for the new Adidas 1 running shoe? Are you kidding me? $250 is insane. Isn't that price point just a little too much for today's runner?

As for the mechanics of the shoe which include a microprocessor, magnetic sensing system and motor driven cable system doesn't this all sound like unfair advantage... cheating in fact, this sorta reminds me of the Six Million Dollar Man. One day we'll look back and reflect how we laced up ordinary shoe's and just raced.

So where do you stand on the introduction of machinery and mechanics in the shoe of the runner lining up next to you?

Where do you put your keys when you go running?

This afternoon I was engaged in a conversation with a couple of colleagues of mine and the question came up... Where do you put your house or car key(s) when you head out for a walk or run?

The answers around our table were 3.

  • A New Balance combination bottle opener key chain. It has a single key to my house and I carry it in my hand.
  • My garage door has a keypad that allows access to the house.
  • Hold them in my hand.

Mine is the first. Now, my garage door offers a keypad entry but that's no guarantee that I can get in because my better half typically keeps the chain on the door that then leads to the house.

So where do you put your keys?

Where do you spend the most on athletic shoes?

"Where did you spend the most on athletic shoes in the past four weeks?"

Retail Forward Inc., a market research firm that tracks consumers' habits, asked shoppers.

Its findings: discount stores, 21 percent; value department stores, including Sears, 9.9 percent; shoe stores, 22.3 percent; sporting goods stores, 4.4 percent; traditional department stores, 3.3 percent; and other retailers, 39.1 percent.

I would guess that the 39.1 percent, other retailers, was online stores.

So, where do you spend the most on athletic shoes?

I would shop at a shoe store if I needed a new pair because I would want a good fitting. I would shop online if I was purchasing a model I already have or a similar model because I find better deals online, especially after price searching at www.shopping.com.

    New Balance Running Skirt

Would you wear a skirt to run? Then slip on a cute shirt, go shopping with the kids, or maybe meet the hubby for lunch? Does fashion meet function here with this New Balance running skirt?

Looks like the Running World community is also talking about the New Balance running skirt ,might add they think it is cute but seem to be scatching their head about it, although most have not tried it.

It does come with a nylon-Lycra blend brief. That's good, that means you don't have to keep your legs crossed when you sit! Although I hear the trail runners prefer the running skirts because it is easier for them when they have to pee! Guess that would make it functional.

If you have this running skirt, or any other brand, let me know how you like it? Is it functional or fashionable?
