The high mileage trainer will replace the New Balance 1221 running shoe. The 1222 comes in 2 color combinations for both Men and Women.

Replacing the 820's, the 822's will have a cosmetic update with new colors.

I am happy to say that I am back from vacation and ready to blog.

So what’s been going on with New Balance this last week?

Well the who’s wearing New Balance and who is not seems to have made news. Seems who is not wearing New Balance is a well known, loyal 991 wearer,
Steve Jobs, chief executive officer of— Apple and Pixar, who was known to appear in public wearing the same outfit- jeans, black shirt and sporting his New Balance 991’s. Such a well know event that there is even a website called Stevesoutfit.com. I tried to enter the website and couldn’t. Maybe he is redressing at this time because the word is out that he was seen wearing Nike.

Why the change of shoe brands? Seems Apple and Nike have formed a partnership called Nike + iPodGlobal. That’s right, shoes that you can plug in your IPod. Shoes that talk. It is said to be like having a personal trainer in your shoe measuring your activity. These shoes have not yet been released.

I don’t see New Balance customers switching over to these shoes.
New Balance customers are looking for a different kind of technology.

Quick... how many companies do you know that have a 100 year history? Not that easy is it? If you said New Balance then you got one right! New Balance was founded in 1906 by William Riley. That's hard to imagine isn't it? Oh, and they're still committed to manufacturing products in the USA.

To commemorate the occasion New Balance has launched New Balance 100; a very nice looking website that shares their story from the beginning.

Personally, I really like the 'Sharing Success' page. It shows the depth of New Balances' generosity. Some companies show up and 'give' when a tragedy occurs; others give all the time. New Balance has been 'giving' since 1981.

Maybe you saw the Today show with Katie and Matt cruising the Royal Caribbean's "Freedom of the Seas" for it's first debut cruise. This new ship will be the world's largest cruise ship.

New Balance once again finds an innovative way to market their products. New Balance has partnered with the "Freedom of the Sea" . This partnership will enable cruisers to get pre-boarding advice on fitness, footwear and apparel, customize their own onboard fitness programs, receive stretching and hydration tips, participate in New Balance-created family fitness activities. New Balance will also develop running and walking routes at various ports of call.
