If you pick up the April issue of Runner's World magazine you can read the Spring Trail - Shoe Review on page 107.

You will see brands such as Merrell, Montrail, Asics, INOV-8, Nike, Timberland, Reebok, Puma, and of course New Balance.

The New Balance trail shoe that Runner's World tested was the 907.

The wear tester stated that it was stable, did not feel heavy and had an awesome lacing system.

In the new April 2006 issue of Shape there is a shoe review for the most comfy sneakers for your feet for Women.

In the walking category, the New Balance WW791WB was listed as having the best cushioning. It also suggested that the 791 is good for those who walk for more than an hour, hard to fit feet, if you have a weight over 150 and flat feet.

Wow, another update. This one is the New Balance walking shoe, the 658. It has been replaced by the 659.

The Men’s model, the MW659WN is on a SL-1 Last. It comes with a supportive Medial Post, which is a medial wedge of higher than normal density C-Cap midsole material extending from the heel to the first metatarsal head, which provides pronation control. This shoe offers slight pronation control.

The Women’s model, the WW659WL is on a SL-2 Last. SL-2 Lasts are good for foot conditions that need extra room in the toe box. This model allows extra room in the toe box which helps ease the pain of bunions, hammer toes and runners toe.

The is a supportive and cushioned walking shoe which supports the walking gait cycle.

The first week-end of March, winners of the New Balance Kids Sportsmanship award set out on their 3 day cruise to the Bahamas. It sounds like the kids had a great time.

New Balance choose 48 winners. Each winner wrote an essay on sportsmanship. The winners received a 3 day cruise with their family, New Balance footwear, shirts and beach towels.

This shoe has really been flying out of the store. I suppose that is due to the color. The New Balance 748 is made up in a tan/brownish leather and mesh which gives it a rugged country look.

Suggestions to take care of your shoes:

If you have bunions, hammer toes or runners toes you would surely benefit by wearing a SL-2 Last.
A SL-2 last will give your feet extra room because it is made with a wider forefoot. It allows the toes to move around and not be cramped or squeezed which can really aggravate the problem areas.
