Do the opposite of everyone else and succeed.... huh?

That's exactly what New Balance has done over the years. When did you make the switch from another brand to New Balance? I'll bet that unless you have a unique size requirement then you probably wore something trendy or hip early on in your running and didn't switch until your 30's.

So when did you switch to New Balance?

My shoes have an Intel P4 1.2Ghz PART 2...errgh

Just in from the Technology sector... Adidas has apparently created the worlds first Smart Shoe with an embedded microprocessor that is capable to adapting to your size and stride "on the fly".

I'm not sure I want a device dynamically adjusting my shoe while in stride are you? Don't get me wrong, it certainly takes a couple of runs to get the shoe broken in; but the shoe has a perfect fit at that point does it not? For me it does.

So why would anyone want to adjust a perfectly broken in shoe?

Dontate Your Crusty Old Pair Of New Balance

Bolder Boulder is looking for your old running shoes to send to runners around the world. I wonder who is going to end up with my shoes? My strategy is to pass down my current pair to the garage... those will be the lawn mowing pair. The existing lawn mowing pair will be headed to Bolder Boulder.

Your shoe odometer reads....

If you’re training for a marathon 500 miles might last 6-8 weeks. How many miles are you getting out of your shoes? Do you feel that 500 miles is appropriate for an above average pair of running shoes?

I can recall this pair of Nike Columbia's that I wore in High School; I trained in those all summer that year, 750 miles in 90 days. Those shoes were completely worn out by the end of the summer training. But I felt like my shoes were worth the money.

I'm not sure that I want computerized clothes. Apparently they are on the way; compliments on the fashion industry.

So what kinda socks do you like?

The Daily News reports that a 3 pack of socks for under $5 seems to suffice for most runners. Uh... what? Not for me. I prefer the higher quality socks that contain Coolmax; designed to pull moisture away from the feet. New Balance also manufacturers socks with teflon to prevent blisters too.
